Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 large onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cans (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup red wine
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 bay leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- 1 Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
- 2 Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
- 3 Add onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- 4 Stir in garlic and tomato paste, cook for 1 minute.
- 5 Pour in red wine and simmer until reduced by half.
- 6 Add crushed tomatoes, bay leaves, salt, and pepper.
- 7 Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally.
- 8 Stir in milk during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- 9 Remove bay leaves and adjust seasoning.
- 10 Serve over pasta with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese.
